Carnitas Torta

A Torta is a Mexican sandwich and is a delicious combination of meat, beans, and vegetables. Our version has pork, beans, and veggies between our S.Rosen's French Rolls for a tasty and satisfying sandwich.

6 Sandwiches


  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 6  boneless pork chops 
  • 6 S. Rosen's French Rolls 
  • 1/2 can refried black beans
  • 3 tablespoons salsa
  • 1/2 cup Chihuahua  cheese
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced onion
  • 1 large tomato, sliced
  • 1 jalapeño pepper, seeded and sliced
  • 1 sliced and peeled avocado, cut into thin slices.


  1. Preheat broiler.
  2. Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Combine cumin and salt; rub into pork
  4. Add pork to pan; cook 2 minutes on each side or until done. Let stand 5 minutes; cut into thin slices.
  5. Place roll halves, cut sides up, on a baking sheet. Broil 2 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Mix together refried beans and salsa. Spread bean mixture into the bottom half of rolls.
  7. Top with pork, cheese, onion, tomato, jalapeño, avocado, and top half of roll.
