Classic Reuben Sandwich

The classics never go out of style.  Enjoy this simple recipe for a delicious Reuben sandwich that's sure to make your mouth water.  It's perfect for St. Patrick's Day, but so tasty, we suspect you'll want to have it more than just once a year.

Ingredients

  • 12 slices of S. Rosen's Rye Bread
  • 1/4 cup of butter
  • 6 TBL Thousand Island Dressing
  • 6 slices of Swiss cheese
  • 16 oz sauerkraut, drained
  • 3/4 lb thinly sliced cooked corned beef

 

Directions

  1. Spread 1 TBL of Thousand Island Dressing over each slice of bread.  Top with Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and corned beef.  Top with remaining bread slices.
  2. Spread 1 tsp of butter over each top slice of bread. Place sandwiches, butter side down, in skillet.  Spread remaining butter over top slices.  Cook uncovered on low heat for about 10 minutes, or until golden brown.
  3. Flip your sandwich, and cook for another 8 minutes, or until golden brown.
  4. Transfer to your plate and enjoy.
