Fall Spiced BLT

Ingredients

For Two Sandwiches:

4 Slices S.Rosen's Wheat bread
8 slices of heirloom tomatoes

Chipotle mayo

Romaine or artisan lettuce

For the Spiced Candied Bacon:

1/2 lb. Thick cut bacon 

3 Tbsp Brown sugar 

1 Tbsp Apple juice or cider

1/2 tsp Cinnamon

1/2 tsp Chili powder 

 

Directions

1. For the bacon. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine the brown sugar, apple cider, cinnamon and chili powder in a big bowl. Toss the thick cut bacon in the mixture until well coated. To cook lay out on a baking sheet. Using a baking rack on the baking sheet will give better results but will take 5-10 minutes longer to cook.

2.Cook for 20-30 minutes, checking the bacon regularly until it crisps. Remove and allow to cool (it will be crispier this way) 

3. Toast bread, coat chipotle mayo on both sides and assemble with bacon, sliced tomato and lettuce. Enjoy.
