Ingredients

For the Broccoli Gouda mixture

  • 10 oz. Package of frozen broccoli pieces
  • 4 oz. Cream Cheese (cut into large cubes)
  • 1 Tbsp. Salted butter
  • 6 oz. Gouda cheese, grated
  • ¼ tsp Garlic powder
  • ½ tsp Onion powder
  • ½ tsp Mustard (Dijon or similar)
  • ¼ tsp salt (more to taste)

For the Appetizers

  • 16 Slices of S.Rosen’s Party Entertainers Caraway Cocktail Rye
  • 4 Slice of bacon, cooked and cut into small pieces or crumbled (omit for a meatless appetizer or serve on the side to cater to people’s preferences)

Directions

  1. Heat broccoli according to the package’s instructions.
  2. While broccoli cooks combines the rest of the mixture ingredients in a large heat resistant bowl.
  3. Once the broccoli has finished cooking immediately combine it with the rest of the ingredients (the heat from the broccoli melts the cream cheese). Stir and break up the broccoli a bit until well combined. This can be done the day before, just refrigerate until you’re ready to assemble.
  4. Place a large spoon size dollop on each cocktail rye.
  5. Heat in oven at 350 for 6-7 minutes (longer if the mixture is cook from the fridge). Serve with bacon on top or on the side.
