By: S.Rosen's Test Kitchen

For the Sloppy Joe

  • Half a large white onion, diced
  • Whole bell pepper, diced (use a sweeter red or yellow pepper)
  • 3 Garlic cloves
  • 1 lb. Lean ground beef
  • 1 Tbsp. Neutral oil
  • ½ Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce

For the Assembled Hot Dog

  • 1 S. Rosen’s Brioche Hot Dog Buns

Directions

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sloppy Joe first. With one Tbsp. of oil, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat. Once browned, add the white onion and bell pepper, then cover and cook for 5-6 minutes. Remove cover and add diced garlic, stir until fragrant, then add Worcestershire sauce and stir again. At this point add the chili sauce and brown sugar. Lower to medium-low heat and cook covered for 5 minutes until the mixture darkens. Add salt if needed, then set aside.

To assemble: Place cooked hot dog in bun, top with sloppy joe mix, then add the pickle spear and shredded cheddar cheese
